It was important to us to have a coffee permanently available in our own café – our identity – carrying flavour notes that reflect how we think about coffee.
The original Apricot House Blend was created in 2015. After 40 kg of coffee beans and 5 months of experimenting, we put together exactly what we wanted as the base blend for our café.
In our view, in modern coffee culture the taste experience far outweighs standardisation, so our blend keeps changing and being refined. In our case this means seasonal changes to the green coffee stock, in close cooperation with our roaster. Coffee is a crop, and it doesn't grow the same way every year, so with the expected roast its taste changes too. So before every order we have to test whether the new harvest meets our criteria – and if it doesn't, we switch.
The Apricot House Blend is a blend of Ethiopian, Colombian and Guatemalan coffees. Medium-bodied with a bold flavour, with notes of milk chocolate and berries. It makes a sweet espresso, and with milk you get a special buttery taste.
We're delighted that today our guests not only drink it at Apricot but also love making their coffee at home with the Apricot House Blend.
Our goal is to show as many people as possible how we think about coffee. If we haven't yet, we hope we can win you over soon too.
The Apricot House Blend can be bought in our shop in 250 g and 1000 gpacks.
